The Shema on Glass Mezuzah

During the times of anti-Semitism the rolled parchment was often hidden well within in the doorpost. In recent years, however, open display of the mezuzah allows it to become a focal point of its function and the mezuzah has gained a place as an artistic piece. The artist in this unique mezuzah was inspired by the open display of the rolled parchment. A glass plate is etched with the entire text of the scroll within, so that the outside mirrors the inside. One can see the suspended parchment through the glass, emphasizing the times we live in. Each creation is signed by the artist.
