Humans have, from their earliest history, tended to decorate every article in use,
and the decoration of wood has been at the forefront of these artistic ventures.
The texture of wood presents unique challenges; therefore, in this case, Bubinga, a
rare hardwood from West Africa, was chosen. Carved into the wood is the blessing
“Ha Motzi Lechem Min Haaretz” (“Blessed is He who brings forth bread from the
earth”). Supporting the carved wood are four stalks of wheat made of sterling
silver. A round, elevated piece of granite serves as a cutting surface.
Each work is signed by the artist and is available in a limited edition.
